HCDI Lead Indexer
Part A Orientation
Part A - Orientation
Basis: HCDI governance rule and HCDI platform rule (Edition 0.3, Level 3 document).
A1. Who this is for Practitioners who lead HCDI assessments for an advisory firm. They run the engagement, check the work of Indexers, and analyse evidence conflicts for HCDI to decide
A2. Credential and login role On the platform the role that runs an engagement is the Deal Lead. A login role is given on an engagement. A credential is awarded by the scheme. They are different things
A3. Leading is not deciding Conflict resolution that can affect a score or gate, gates, corrective-action approval and verification are HCDI's
A4. Entry Level 2, plus a leadership and quality-assurance assessment, plus logged supervised practice. The number of engagements is set by the Scheme Committee [interim value, subject to ratification]. No HCDI-delivered training is required to sit the examination (interim, subject to ratification)
A5. The Committee's basis for supervised practice "Enough to have met a conflict, a coverage shortfall and a client under pressure at least once each." What counts as a supervised engagement, and who supervises, is not set out in this edition
A6. The HCDI roles HCDI Compliance, the Internal Reviewer and the HCDI verification role. A Firm user cannot hold an HCDI role
A7. What a Lead Indexer needs from Level 2 The whole of it. A Lead Indexer checks Indexers' work, so must know that work from the inside. See the Level 2 manual
A9. Assessment The knowledge examination, the leadership and quality-assurance assessment, and logged supervised practice. The assessment and its rubric are not yet set out. Study is self-paced, but assessments are taken at events the Scheme arranges [sitting windows set by the Scheme Committee]
A10. How to use this manual Self-paced. Read a unit, answer its self-check questions without your notes, and go on. Book when you judge you are ready. No one signs you off
A11. The shape of the manual
How to study
Read a chapter and distinguish its source-derived content from the general discussion. Attempt the fictional exercise before reading Part G. For a source case, state the facts before the judgement and identify the actor with authority. Complete the sandbox questions before consulting Part F. A wrong answer is useful when its explanation reveals a scope or evidence error. No study score is a scheme pass mark.
