Unit 2.3 - Collecting evidence

Learning outcome - Upload and link evidence so that it makes the right indicator scorable, and answer company data requests.

Source note

Source basis - S2, physical PDF page 14.

HCDI platform rule (Unit 2.3).

Why it matters. Evidence that is mislinked, undated or vaguely described cannot support a score, and it cannot be defended afterwards.

The upload. It names the indicator the document evidences, the date the document speaks from, a factual description and, on a two-party engagement, the party. The link is fixed at upload, and there is no "move". A document uploaded without an indicator makes no indicator scorable. Company data requests. A request is marked provided, by linking an uploaded document, or recorded as missing. "Provided" does not mean verified. A missing request is not a reason to score low. The request texts come from the approved Evidence Source Map, and you read them on screen.

Worked example (illustrative). A company sends an organisation chart by email. You upload it, name the indicator it evidences, enter March as the date it speaks from, and describe it factually: "Organisation chart, titled as at March, showing the company's reporting lines". You mark the request provided, and you leave its status for Unit 2.4. Common Error. Linking a document to an indicator because it is convenient, not because it evidences it.
