HCDI Certified Indexer

Chapter 1. The kinds of evidence

Source note

Source basis - S2, physical PDF page 6.

HCDI platform rule (Units 2.3 and 2.7). Evidence work on an engagement has three parts. Evidence documents are files uploaded and linked to an indicator. Company data requests are requests for specific material from the assessed company, each recorded as provided or missing. Inquiry is evidence from people: structured inquiries answered by respondents, and Adaptive Digital Inquiry sessions that an Indexer runs under the respondent's consent. An Adaptive Digital Inquiry session uses pre-authored branching questions. Nothing is generated at runtime, and the platform proposes no score. The session waits for a person's score. The Indexer's contribution is to record what the respondent said, as given.

Indexer Perspective. Know which kind of evidence you are handling. The rules differ: a document is linked and dated, a request is provided or missing, and an inquiry answer is recorded as typed.

Each source supports a particular claim

Basis - general professional knowledge and editorial explanation. External references are identified explicitly; this section adds no HCDI rule.

A document records a representation, an inquiry records a person's account, and a data request records whether material was supplied. Approval does not establish operation. A claim can be administratively complete while substantively disputed. Start with the precise proposition under examination and keep supply, reliability and meaning separate.
