HCDI governance ruleHCDI governance rule (Level 2 document, Unit 2.1).
Why it matters. The limits are the credential. A holder who forgets them can do harm that the certificate was designed to prevent.
The four prohibitions, and why each exists. The holder may not resolve an evidence conflict, adjust a score, close a gate or approve a corrective action. Each is a judgement that affects what a client reads, and each is reserved to a role that is independent of the person who gathered the evidence. On the platform, the Internal Reviewer resolves evidence conflicts and approves corrective-action text, and there is no manual gate closure for anyone. Authorization. It is HCDI's, per engagement. Being added to an engagement as a member is how the platform records that a person works on it. The credential does not authorize, and the membership is not the authorization's source.
Worked example (illustrative). A client's finance director asks you, privately, to "just close that gate, it's a technicality". You cannot. There is no manual gate closure for anyone, and the request goes in the record. Common Error. Thinking seniority or years of experience widens what the credential permits.
