HCDI Certified Indexer
Chapter 11. Checking leaders and board members against documents
Source note
Source basis - S2, physical PDF page 10.
HCDI platform rule (Unit 2.8). A roster lists the company's leaders and board members. An entry is corroborated against a governance document, and not against the roster itself. Upload the governance document first. Then, for each entry, choose the governance document, say where in it the entry appears, and record whether it was found. "Found" verifies the entry. "Not found" opens an evidence conflict for the Internal Reviewer. Never record "found" to avoid a conflict. A conflict is not a failure of the Indexer. It is the system working.
Indexer Perspective. Record what the document shows, including when it does not show what the roster says.
A roster is an assertion to check
Basis - general professional knowledge and editorial explanation. External references are identified explicitly; this section adds no HCDI rule.
Checking a list against another copy of itself is circular. An attributed assertion is not independent corroboration. A name absent from available documents is not proof that the person holds no office; it states what was not found in those sources. Preserve that narrower conclusion.

Figure 2.11 A roster is an assertion to check. Original conceptual illustration; arrows organise the discussion and do not establish a validated causal effect or a scoring procedure.
Original exercise L2 E11
Basis - original fictional exercise. The organisation, events and any numbers are invented for learning. No HCDI result is assigned.
Eleven directors appear in a roster; ten appear in the governance statement. The eleventh appears only in a signed copy of the roster.
| Analytical task | Learner response required |

| Inference | State the interpretation that still needs support. |
| Alternative | Identify a plausible alternative or missing context. |
| Authority | Identify the relevant credential or role boundary. |
Question - What does the signature establish?
Worked answer: Part G, exercise L2 E11.
