HCDI governance ruleHCDI governance rule (Unit 4.1).
The rules. Three conditions: never one's own firm's engagement, never self-selected, and never nominated by the delivering partner. The independence attestation is on file. Certification attests competence. It does not create a right to be assigned.
Worked example (illustrative). A Level 4 holder is told by a friend at a delivering Firm: "We would like you to review ours." The holder cannot accept that request. Assignment is HCDI's, and a nomination by the delivering partner is one of the three things the limitation block rules out. Common Error. Treating Level 4 as a licence to be assigned.
