HCDI Certified Independent Reviewer
Chapter 13. Remediation safeguards and implementer rules
Source note
Source basis - S4, physical PDF page 11.
HCDI platform rule (Unit 4.7). The delivering Firm discloses at scoping whether it offers remediation services to the client. Issuance is refused until it does, and the answer is printed in the report. Where the Firm offers services in the area an action names, the Internal Reviewer records a check of that action before issuance. At issuance, two statements are attested by a named person. On the Tracker, the implementer of the work is recorded. A Firm recorded as the implementer of remediation may not deliver the reassessment of what it addressed.
Red Flag. An action whose wording happens to describe a service the delivering Firm sells.
Remediation creates a self-review risk
Basis - general professional knowledge and editorial explanation. External references are identified explicitly; this section adds no HCDI rule.
An organisation that implements a remedy may have an interest in later calling it successful. Disclosure of service offerings and separation of reassessment address different parts of that risk. The public workflow includes an implementer record. A disclosure statement alone does not remove every conflict.

Figure 4.13 Remediation creates a self-review risk. Original conceptual illustration; arrows organise the discussion and do not establish a validated causal effect or a scoring procedure.
Original exercise L4 E13
Basis - original fictional exercise. The organisation, events and any numbers are invented for learning. No HCDI result is assigned.
The delivering firm implements remediation and then offers to reassess the same findings at a reduced price.
