Unit 1.3 - The shape of the Index (public level)
Learning outcome - Name the five pillars with their codes, and describe the scoring journey in the public page's own words.
Source note
Source basis - S1, physical PDF page 16.
HCDI methodology fact (Unit 1.3), at the level the public page discloses.
Why it matters. Every HCDI report is organised around the same five pillars. Once you can name them you can read the structure of any report. The five pillars.
| Code | Public pillar name |
| P1 | Corporate Culture Alignment |
| P2 | Communication & Change Management |
| P3 | Employee Engagement & Retention |
| P4 | Founder Attachment & Ownership Readiness |
| P5 | Regulatory & Governance Readiness |
The scoring journey, in four steps, as the public page gives it.
1. An assessor scores each indicator from 1 to 5 against a written description for each score.
2. Each score is recorded with its rationale.
3. Scores from 1 to 4 generate an AI-drafted corrective-action recommendation.
4. A human reviewer must approve or edit each recommendation before it can appear in a report. An indicator is a defined aspect of how an organisation's people and governance behave that can be examined on evidence. How each indicator is read is Methodology Protected (Unit 1.4). Which indicators apply. It depends on the transaction type. There are twelve transaction types. A single-entity type applies 29 indicators, and the others apply 30. The readiness scale. It runs from Critical Risk to Exceptional HumanCorp Readiness. The public page names only the two ends, and so does this manual.
What this unit leaves out. The public page also prints pillar point figures. This edition does not repeat them. Common Error. Assuming every report scores 30 indicators. A single-entity report applies 29.
Governance Boundary. In step 3 the AI drafts, and in step 4 a person decides. The draft does not reach a report unreviewed.
