Unit 1.2 - What HCDI is, and its public face

Learning outcome - State in one sentence what the Index is and what question it answers; find each public page; say what the Trust Center is for.

Why it matters. The public pages are what HCDI says about itself. They are the first place to check a claim, and the place a claim will be compared against. One sentence. The public methodology page says: "Financial and legal due diligence answer whether a company's numbers and structure hold up. HCDI answers a different question: will the people hold up?" A summary, deliberately. The public page does not reproduce the full indicator set. It says that detail lives inside the platform, scoped to your own assessments. This is by design. A public list of every indicator would let an organisation prepare for the assessment and not be assessed. The public pages. The home page, Methodology, Partners, Contact, the Trust Center, Privacy, Terms and Subprocessors.

What the Trust Center is for. It publishes HCDI's statements on intellectual property and brand rights, on privacy, security and data governance, on methodology governance and independence, and on professional certification. Each section holds only what HCDI is prepared to stand behind. An empty section means nothing is published for it yet, and it does not mean nothing exists. The legal pages. The privacy and terms pages show "Draft - not legal advice." Read them as drafts under review. [See CC-L1-001. Evidence Check. A claim about HCDI should match a public statement. If it does not appear on a public page, treat it as unconfirmed and ask the person making it to show their source. Common Error. Reading an empty Trust Center section as a hidden problem. It means the section is not yet published.
